Prs Se Custom 22 Semi Hollow 2017 Review

  • Some fraudsters have compromised TGP accounts have in the past few days. They accept scammed members in the Emporiums by creating ads with stolen photos and requesting Paypal F&F or Venmo exclusively for payment.

We have these bug seriously. We've fabricated security changes that I don't want to detail hither to cease them. However, the best way to prevent this is for members to exercise proper password hygiene (which I'll particular below), plow on two-factor authentication, and -- I implore every unmarried person here -- only use payment methods that have buyer protection. Unfortunately, we cannot command how members do deals. It is heartbreaking to see that the lure of saving some money will still fool people into using those methods to salve a few dollars. In today'southward world, that is false conviction you lot can no longer beget.

Every account that I've restored so far to the original owner was using compromised passwords. Talking to i fellow member as I am working through getting his business relationship back in guild, he informed me that his Apple password director had been compromised and made available on the night web.

None of the accounts compromised were using two-factor hallmark.

We have forced email revalidation for all members that have not signed on for a while. We highly recommend every fellow member reading this change their passwords as a precaution. Nosotros desire to highly recommend that members turn on and utilise TGP's ii-gene authentication selection.

We accept opened a give-and-take thread in the Pub section discussing this.Nosotros will include a very detailed password checklist.

PRS Custom 22 Semi-Hollow due west/ F-holes... what's the discussion?

I recently establish out about these PRS Semi-hollow Custom 22s with the f-holes and trem... http://www.youtube.com/picket?5=4jBsUwJWWhw

and I've been trying to discover out nearly them - but searching on TGP hasn't brought too much info on people'due south feel with them.

I honey the ergonomic feel of my strat and where the volume knob is placed, but also long for some of the tone of a semi-hollow (was jonesing hard for a ES-335 for a while, but was never 100% on board with the feel).

How are you owners/players of this guitar finding it? I know it's probably a "completely different beast" from the ES-335, only do you call up it would be a dainty compromise betwixt the strat/es-335 platonic?

I had a semihollow PRSi ...keen QC and felt and sounded skillful. But I sold it simply because it wasn't plenty of a sonic divergence from a solid bod. Get one if you want the weight savings. But I would non recommend it if you lot're looking for any "semi-hollow flavor" ...the cavity does not brand these audio anything nearly like a semi, IMHO. Not a good pick if you're looking for a ES-ish tone.

I've owned a CU22 Semi and a true Hollowbody II. The CU22 is still in the solidbody camp, only with some interesting overtones, and the afore-mentioned weight savings. The Hollowbody is a lot closer to 335 territory, but still more its ain matter. Another alternative is the Gibson ES339, the smaller version of the 335. Bottom line: The 335 is really it's ain thing and zilch else sounds like information technology.
For PRS in the TO area get talk to Brent at The Guitarshop. He'due south really tapped-into the good stuff from PRS. Tell him I sent you lot.

I completely agree with this. I also had and sold i for the exact same reason. I have several other fantastic PRS solid bodies, and the sonic difference was in that location but very subtle. Great guitar, but tonally much closer to solid trunk territory.

Information technology's an awesome guitar. I have a number of Gibson ES-335s and LPs, and a number of PRS guitars. It'southward not an ES-335, merely it can be every bit good as one. Some nights I volition just run through one guitar afterward some other, trying to empathise the differences, maybe observe one to sell. I've got a '59 Outburst and a '53 GT, and the all-time ES-335 I've ever played, a 63 RI. The Cu22 SH stands out every single time and qualifies as a keeper forever.

Remember, information technology's a mahogany chambered back and solid carved pinnacle with a 25" scale and the PRS Trem. Right there you take to realize it's not trying to be an ES-335. In fact, the forest and chambering probably scream more Gretsch Jet. But the combination of the trem, the 57/08 pickups, and the semi-hollow body gives it the ES-335 like air and fatness and overtones that none of my other PRS accept.

Crawly - that'southward exactly what I was hoping to hear. A bit of that 335-esque air and fatness is what I'm hoping for.

I'm as well certain the solid woods vs the laminate 335 bodies will make a large deviation as well.

Now if only PRS made the Hollowbody Two with some sort of trem organisation, that'd be close to perfect for me

I play both an Se semi hollow with P90'due south and a McCarty hollowbody... great guitars, surprisingly calorie-free yet theres plenty of wood there, necks are a dream to play and I would love to get a set of those pickups in mine, they're keepers.

Go and requite ane a effort, but I warn yous PRS USA guitars are addictive.

wow.. Hawt dayum.

I was really thinking near the JA-15 - only I haven't been able to find it with a bigsby

TY....the Paul Jackson Jr. Sig...aka JA-fifteen is a bang-up guitar, but with the combo of woods ie....spruce elevation, maple cervix and ebony board lean information technology really hard towards an OUTSTANDING Jazzbox. You lot can't go i other than a stoptail. The SCJ Thinline is a cantankerous between a ES-335 and a Byrdland. It's the only Bigsby guitar I take played that stays in tune and I HAMMER It!!!! They were a 300 slice "Limited" run and are INSANE guitars for everything from Benson to Nugent!!

I know this thread is then last month....however, I own the Custom 22 SHLTD and it's the best guitar I've ever played, and my absolute favorite of all my guitars. I would say that it'southward more in the solid body camp, however it has a very organic, open, airy tone which sounds fantastic. I believe the semi hollow design combined with the wood choices and 5708 pickups come up together in a truly beautiful way. The sustain is fantastic, and every note on the neck is articulate equally a bong, even with higher gain chording. Even my non musical, could give a **** virtually guitar tone friends have made positive remarks regarding it'southward sound.

I got mine in Matteo mist, flame top...the elevation is gorgeous! I was actually in the market for a custom 24 but in the end it was betwixt a McCarty and the semi hollow, the semi won out. It is 6.5 pounds!! My dorsum LOVES that, lol...and split ringlet tones are very nice. Stays in tune very well even with repeated trem use.
